Starting January 1, 2025, Israel has adopted a widely used global practice and introduced an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system. Tourists and other travelers are required to obtain a valid visa or an ETA-IL in advance.
Detailed information can be found on the official website of the Israel Population and Immigration Authority.
These changes are intended to simplify border control procedures and apply to travelers from countries that have visa-free agreements with Israel.
Please note that obtaining an ETA-IL does not guarantee entry into Israel.
The electronic travel authorization only allows you to travel to a border crossing in Israel; it does not grant permission to enter or stay in the country. Upon arrival, a border control officer will conduct an inspection and may decide whether entry is permitted.
