Every tourist arriving in Israel must have a passport valid for at least 6 months.
Citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, and Georgia benefit from a simplified visa regime for visiting Israel and do not need to obtain entry permission in advance. Citizens of other CIS countries must obtain an entry permit from Israeli consular offices in their country of residence.
Ben Gurion International Airport, which handles the main flow of tourists, is located 60 km from Jerusalem and 20 km from Tel Aviv. Terminal 3 serves international flights, while Terminal 1 serves domestic flights. The terminals are located some distance from each other, and a free shuttle bus operates between them, so you should allow for a waiting time of 10–20 minutes.
Ramon International Airport is located in the south of Israel, 20 km from Eilat.
Israel is connected to Jordan by three border crossings:
“Allenby Bridge” (Israel) / “King Hussein Bridge” (Jordan)
Located near the city of Jericho, 40 km from Jerusalem (about a 40-minute drive).
“Jordan River” (Israel) / “Sheikh Hussein Bridge” (Jordan)
Located near the city of Beit She’an, 100 km from Jerusalem (about a 1.5-hour drive).
“Yitzhak Rabin Border” (Israel) / “Aqaba Border” (Jordan)
Located 3 km from Eilat.
Israel is connected to Egypt by the following border crossing:
“Taba Border” (Israel) / “Taba Border” (Egypt)
Located 20 km from Eilat.
A border crossing fee is charged when crossing the border.
Israel has two ports—Haifa and Ashdod—that receive passenger cruise ships. Cruise itineraries typically include one-day excursions throughout Israel. It is also possible to join groups embarking on Mediterranean cruise voyages.
