Ancient Jaffa (Joppa), where, according to legend, Noah built his Ark and Perseus rescued Andromeda.
We will stroll through streets that still remember Alexander the Great, Richard I of England, and Napoleon Bonaparte. For centuries, this was the starting point of the pilgrimage route to Jerusalem.
Our excursion begins at the famous Clock Square. We will explore the colorful atmosphere of the renowned flea market, with its striking street art, collections of vintage photographs, retro clothing, stacks of books in many languages, and countless other fascinating treasures. Equally captivating are the personalities of the market vendors themselves.
The most famous Israeli fashion house is also located in Jaffa. We will hear the remarkable story of the Maskit fashion brand, created by Ruth Dayan, wife of the legendary Moshe Dayan.
Along the way, we will taste pomegranate wine, discover what kind of coffee Israelis love to drink, and experience the mysticism of the East through symbols, amulets, and ancient signs that can be found throughout Old Jaffa.
We then descend to the historic port and recall the countless travelers, merchants, pilgrims, and conquerors who arrived at this harbor from ancient times until the beginning of the twentieth century.
Our walk concludes on the promenade at a scenic viewpoint overlooking Tel Aviv.
