Dress Code

Clothing should be comfortable and appropriate for the weather. Comfortable walking shoes are especially important, as many walking routes may include uneven or historic stone surfaces.

When visiting religious pilgrimage sites, visitors’ clothing must strictly comply with local dress requirements. Head coverings should not be neglected.

Note

Transfer to the starting point of the excursion and return transfer to your hotel are not included in the tour price. Please inquire and book these services separately if desired.

However, in most cases, the excursion starting point can easily be reached by public transportation.

Today, ancient Jaffa breathes with the creativity and imagination of artists, sculptors, jewelers, designers, and many other unique and talented people of art.

During the excursion, we will discuss how Jaffa transformed from a once-criminal and unsafe district of Tel Aviv into one of the city’s most vibrant and creative cultural centers. We will explore who supports and finances this artistic revival and examine where the line lies between commerce and “high art.”

We will also talk about modern artistic techniques and innovative methods of creating contemporary works of art.

The Program Includes:

A detailed guided visit to the Ilana Goor Museum, one of the iconic artistic spaces of Jaffa;
A visit to the Brill family workshop, where artists work with original techniques while incorporating modern technologies into their creations;
An introduction to Yemeni culture through the story of Ben-Zion David, an eighth-generation master jeweler and guardian of traditional family craftsmanship;
Meetings with several contemporary young artists, including a brother-and-sister duo of designer jewelers who work with rare and unusual materials to create truly unique jewelry pieces and artistic objects.
