The Crusades remain one of the most dramatic, romantic, and awe-inspiring chapters of medieval history. Thousands of knights set out on long and perilous journeys toward Jerusalem, driven by faith, ambition, and the dream of liberating the Holy Sepulchre. They sought glory on the battlefield, spiritual redemption, and the honor of returning home as holy warriors.
This tour offers a rare opportunity to step directly into that extraordinary world — to follow in the footsteps of the Crusaders, uncover the ambitions and ideals that inspired the warriors of Christ, and understand the triumphs, tragedies, and decisive battles that shaped the history of the Holy Land.
During the era of the Crusades, the Crusaders not only captured Jerusalem and established the Kingdom of Jerusalem, but also constructed an extensive network of mighty fortresses across the territory of present-day Jordan. These powerful strongholds stretched from the Egyptian frontier all the way to Anatolia, forming one of the most impressive defensive systems of the medieval world.

Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Amman.
After breakfast, departure from Amman for an excursion to the legendary Kerak Castle.
The city of Kerak was once the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Moab and is mentioned in the Bible as Kir-Hareseth. Towering above the city are the impressive ruins of the Crusader fortress — one of the finest examples of medieval military architecture in the region, rivaling even the famous Krak des Chevaliers. Walking through its massive halls and underground passages, you will feel transported directly into the era of the Crusaders.
We then continue to Shobak Castle, dramatically situated atop a remote conical mountain northeast of the modern town. The fortress contains the remains of two churches, one of which features an entrance to a secret passage descending deep into the mountain itself.
Shobak withstood several sieges by Saladin and finally surrendered in 1189 as the last Crusader stronghold east of Jerusalem. In the 14th century, the Mamluks reinforced the fortress and continued to use it until the 19th century.
