Jordan is a beautiful corner of the world. Its people are welcoming and genuinely interested in hosting visitors. With each of my visits, the level of service continues to improve, while the authenticity of the culture remains intact.

Quite spontaneously, a wonderful group came together within just a week. Over four days, everyone bonded, and it felt as though we had known each other for a long time. The trip was not only spontaneous—the itinerary also evolved along the way. Thanks to the group for embracing every change with ease. As a result, it turned into a truly engaging and memorable journey.

The second day of our journey through Jordan was incredibly насыщенный—packed with experiences. It’s hard to believe that we managed to visit so many remarkable places in just one day. Many thanks to our well-organized group.

In the morning, we explored the Dana Nature Reserve, enjoying the scenery and learning about traditional rural life. Then we headed toward Petra. On the way, we stopped at what is said to be the smallest hotel in the world—the “Volkswagen Beetle Hotel”—and met its owner. We even agreed that our next group would stay there.

From all sides, we admired Montreal (Shobak) Castle, built by the Crusaders. We also visited the sacred Spring of Moses (one of the twelve, according to Muslim tradition). And finally, we reached the magnificent Petra, where we followed one of the reserve’s beautiful trails, ascending to the High Place of Sacrifice.

Day Three of the Journey in Jordan

We continued exploring Petra. This time, we took a scenic trail passing by the “Monastery.” From there, we descended to the Roman-Byzantine city, where we admired the beautiful mosaics of a Byzantine church, the remains of the Temple of the Winged Lions, and the Royal Tombs.

On the way to Wadi Rum, we stopped for a photo session near a station of the historic Hejaz Railway.

In Wadi Rum, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our accommodation—a five-star hotel designed in the style of Bedouin tents, complete with an excellent swimming pool. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite warm enough to enjoy the pool, but we did enjoy a traditional dinner featuring Zarb (Madfune), cooked underground, followed by an impromptu hafla with dancing.

Wadi Rum is a place where you simply cannot miss the sunsets and sunrises. So upon arrival at the hotel, after a few words of admiration, we hurried off to watch the sunset.
